ABOUT
Otterkin was founded by three friends in a small flat in Pimlico, London.
Today, it is open to the world.
OTTERKIN was founded on a simple belief: the human desire to make something beautiful, meaningful, and lasting hasn't changed, but the way we access it has.
For centuries, commissioning art was the privilege of the few. Today, Otterkin opens that door to the world. We enable anyone, anywhere, to commission fine art directly from living painters and sculptors. From a portrait traveling from Bologna to Chicago, to a landscape arriving in Singapore, we are facilitating collaborations across continents.
THE MISSION
Otterkin combines the curation of a gallery with the reach of a global marketplace, providing the digital commissioning infrastructure for the modern renaissance.
Geography will no longer silently constrain patronage; no longer will it limit collectors to local artisans or those with gallery representation in major cities. We bridge the gap between vision and creation.
THE ATELIER
Though artist and collector may be worlds apart, Otterkin brings them together in one place: The Atelier.
This is the dedicated digital space where the commission unfolds. It is where sketches are shared, feedback is given, and the artwork comes to life. Nothing gets lost or forgotten; the conversation continues, and the vision is perfected together.
This is patronage as it should be: clear, participatory, and human.
JOIN THE RENAISSANCE
Great cultures are defined not by what they inherit, but by what they choose to make.
